CHECKROOM, FIRE EXTINGUISHER, AND TELEPHONE ICONS
As part of the original set of icons, Kevin Dresser designed the “checkroom” symbol to have similar visual language as his design for the “fire extinguisher” and “telephone.” He wanted to continue the design language of the fire extinguisher’s round pressure gauge and the telephone’s circular dial into the coat hanger hook within the checkroom icon. Unfortunately, after many presentations, his checkroom design was nixed and adjusted to have more of a standard coat hanger style with a hooked top.
